The closure of the HSBC branch in Stockton Heath is causing a stir. It will inconvenience many long standing customers and cause them to move to other branches in the village.
Although there is going to be a facility to pay in and withdraw cash from the post office the faceless branch in Warrington will be of little help to those who want the personal touch.

I use this branch and find it so handy, living in the village. I have banked with HSBC (and when it was Midland) for 30 years and will most definitely switch to another bank if they close this branch, as a working Mum with 2 children I rarely have time to go into Warrington.
Do we need another bar and restaurant in Stockton Heath?

This is shocking, this bank is so busy and the staff so helpful and friendly. I will be moving banks if I no longer have a local branch to go to

I have been using the Stockton Heath branch on a regular basis for over 20 years for both business and personal banking. To me it's much more than its convenient location; the staff are superb, always friendly and efficient. They have dealt very well with a few tricky enquiries over the years. Our business needs to pay-in US dollar cheques and experience has taught me to do this in the Stockton Heath branch only! Despite using the branch all these years HSBC have not extended the courtesy of a letter informing me of its intended closure. Is this an indication of the level of service we might expect if this unfortunate decision does go ahead?
