In light of recent controversy of the carving on Stone Mountain, we, the undersigned request Georgia Lawmakers to enact legislation protecting the carving upon Stone Mountain. We request that the carving be protected by law in such a manner that it may never be changed. Furthermore, we, the undersigned request that Georgia Lawmakers enact within that legislation that there be a day set aside as a state holiday that requires state and local offices to be closed as well as schools in honor of the confederate soldiers who died.
The Confederacy is part of American history. Unfortunately there are groups of people who have a political agenda that want to revise and change American history.
