The City of St. Catharines approved the construction of a new arena costing $50 million as a home for the Ice Dogs. We believe that the city deserves name recognition for this effort. The Ice Dogs are the only Ontario Hockey League club named after their region and not their city. This has led to confusion about the club's location outside of the region and we would like to see that misunderstanding corrected.
