On June 10th 2016 we lost hockey great Gordie Howe. He was an amazing man both on and off the ice and a hero in Detroit. With his passing I feel something must be done to pay tribute to this great man and I can think of nothing more fitting than to name the new Little Cesar's Arena currently being built in Detroit after Gordie Howe. Howe played much of his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings and with the team getting a new arena I see it only fitting to name it after the greatest player to ever put on the winged wheel. Many people in Detroit do not care for the current name of the arena and with the massive support Gordie Howe has from the people I think this needs to happen. Please Mike Ilitch let's pay tribute to Mr. Hockey in the best way possible.

No matter when it is constructed, this new arena exists because the Red Wings are the house that Gordie built. You owe him this honor.
So fitting too name after him. I never like little ceazer for a name. Alot of sports venue are corporate named and it's sad. Show the rest of the world we are hockeytown and proud of it.
I have being watching Gordie Howe play since played in Olympia Stadium and I believe that the new stadium as an honor and respect should rename the Gordie Howe Arena
The greatest tribute the Iilitch family could do is to name the new hockey stadium after Mr Hockey, Gordie Howe and to design the top with the Red Wings symbol and a giant number 9!!!!!
Joe Louis had an arena named after him.. It's Gordie's turn. Us fans are the ones that will be paying for the tickets, salaries, food and mech for years to come. This arena is for EVERYONE not just the Little Ceaser LLC. The right thing to do is name it after Gordie Howe the hero, the leagend of Detroit hockey.

Gordie Howe is the greatest symbol of Detroit Red Wing Hockey. We have had our hockey rinks named after boxers and now a pizza company. It is time we give Hockey and Gordie Howe the honor that is deserved.
