I play PB regularly at Caldwell Park, the courts have deteriorated to a degree that there are safety issues. This is unfortunate and unacceptable. While the tennis courts are getting resurfaced, the hundreds of PB players are dodging cracks and holes on the courts. Please take action soon to ensure the citizens of Iredell County can stay safe and enjoy this ever growing sport.

Presently than tennis courts.
There are not enough courts in Statesville presently. Hope that will change in near future.

I have played at Caldwell for two years. The once beautiful representation of your town is really in need of some serious repair and maintenance. Please see as many do the need to fix and repair these courts back to their once wonderful state.

Pickleball needs to be given the same priority as tennis players. The pickleball courts get far more use than the tennis courts and deserve to be repaired.

I have played at these courts before they were permanent PB courts! Such a great place to meet and play with people!!! I am a member of the original group that donated money and would have loved to see them kept up!!! The Tennis courts are always empty….so sad…..

Pickleball community is growing and we need more courts to accommodate more players. I hope the Town of Statesville will reconsider their decision in renovating the PB courts soon.

Number of players: In 2023, there were an estimated 48.3 million pickleball players in the US, which is 19% of the adult population.
Age of players: The average age of a pickleball player is 38.1 years old, which is younger than the average age of 41 years old in 2020.
Percentage of players by age: 28.8% of pickleball players are between the ages of 18 and 34.
Please make Caldwell park pickleball courts a priority. We need more courts and improved surfaces on the ones we have.

I think the least the City can do is give a public explanation to its citizens and taxpayers about the poor business practices that have left the tennis courts in a shambles and address what actions the City's elected leaders plan to do to rectify this.

Statesville is my hometown and as a kid, I grew up at Caldwell park. I am in full support for there to be better maintenance and care given to the pickleball courts!
