Because Lynchburg College's and Liberty University's graduation occurred on the same day, President Garren and the Cabinet decided to move graduation from May 14 to May 7th. Because of this change of dates, seniors will not have senior week and will not receive their diplomas at graduation. Underclassmen are also negatively impacted by the change with the exam schedule being compressed into five days, having to attend class on a Saturday due to Student Scholar Showcase, and not having a reading day for study. Please sign this petition if you are done with Liberty University dominating Lynchburg.

As an underclassman this is very frustrating for me, because I find the reading day before exams to be extremely helpful when I am studying for exams. Without it there is not enough time to study everything. There is barely enough time as it is.

I want to be able to take that week to unwind and to celebrate all the hard work that I have put in over these four years! Senior week allows us to say goodbye to our fellow seniors as well as goodbye to Lynchburg College!

Absolutely absurd to see a "small, personal" school buckle at the whims and desires of a larger more influential one. As a graduate of the class of 2016 I do not believe that we should suffer from an unnecessary scheduling change.

Lynchburg college will be taking away the graduation experience!!! We were looking forward to our son receiving his diploma and photos of him receiving it. Feeling cheated of this life experience!

I understand why they had to move it but doing so crams the end of the year for all students. There is no time to pack, decompress or enjoy LC for a few more days before we have to leave.

I'm the first in my immediate family to receive a Bachelor's Degree. It would be nice if I actually received my degree at graduation instead of in the mail since I've worked so hard for it.
