NOTICE TO PARENTS, GRAND-PARENTS, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS, and any person who cares about the care and education of our children,
On Thursday April 23rd, the Gallant Government announced a cut
of $2.4 million to Early Learning and Child Care (Day Care) operators
in New Brunswick, effective June 1, 2015. With this reduction, we are
forced to consider eliminating spaces at our child care centre, laying
off staff, reducing staff wages and benefits, closing our doors outright
and increasing rates to parents.
We do not want to do any of these!
We believe in affordable, accessible, and quality Early Learning and
Child Care and urge you to contact all government MLAs at
[email protected] and copy the Opposition MLAs at [email protected] to help stop this cut.
We appreciate your support for our Early Learning and
Child Care centres and appreciate your support for quality child care
services.

If the government does not take back this planed decrease of funds to daycares we will find illegal centres operating. We do not need this in our province of New Brunswick!! Mr. Gallant and MPs get out of the dark ages!!
I work with children who have special needs, they need me in their life. But I can't be in theirs if I am not being paid a fair livable wage. Don't let this be the first step in all of us loosing out on these benefits. Sign this and save a profession from a major downfall.
down right sickens me. now there will be major cuts to the employees, & low income families will have to pay more forcing the families to pull their children out of the daycare. So in the long run daycares across New Brunswick will have to close due to lack of children
The liberal platform stated it wanted to make NB the best place to raise a family, help parents get back into the workforce... Your off to a bad start!!! Taking away incentives that keep graduates in the province and now taking away incentives that help amazing people take great care of our young children when we can't... Not a fan
Cutting primary education will not put us in a better economic situation in the years to come. We already have literacy issues which can be dealt with early on if more money was invested into daycare and early intervention. This isn't a short cut to save money because we will pay for it later on.

That's typical of the government to take away something that is working. I hope they realize that early child care is very important and this is one area that needs to stay in place.

This budget cut would be devastating to our sector and set us back at least 20 years. All the private owners that would be affected put every ounce of themselves and their own wages back into the business in order to keep it open, create jobs and childcare spaces. It is truly a slap in the face...
