The School District of Philadelphia is making dramatic changes to schools throughout the city. Recently, the School Reform Commission announced that Penn Treaty Middle School would become a 6th through 12th grade school. Additionally, they announced that leadership positions would be open for interview including that of Principal of Penn Treaty. During this transitional period, a stable leadership team is necessary to make this move a success. We seek your support in keeping our current principal, Mr. Samuel Howell, in place.

 If the School District of Philadelphia allows, Mr. Howell is 100% committed to remaining at Penn Treaty. We feel this is in the best interest of everyone involved in this process because of Mr. Howell’s dedication to and experience with the students, their families, the Penn Treaty staff and the neighborhood where Penn Treaty is situated. Instead of spending time interviewing candidates for this position, we would rather continue the plans for preparing Penn Treaty to become the school it is going to be.
