I am one of the people who used to frequent St. Mary's Lighthouse to catch Pokemon and I loved it. Not only could I take my 6 year old son there, but I also met 2 people who I have become very good friends with. It was a perfect spot to collect some rare Pokemon whilst enjoying natural beauty and making friends. I am infuriated that the pokestops and gym were removed.

There has been a note been going round that us poke masters had been disturbing the seals; however the seals are around the back of the lighthouse, and as far as I know - no one ever went round there, we pretty much all stayed by the lures or went to battle the gym.

I mean, what would they do if a couple of hundred people decided to start visiting the lighthouse just for fun? Would they turn them away and blame the seals?

The two food carts that are there must have been doing great business, the car park was raking the money in (which can only be a good thing since I believe it is run by the council and will go back into the community). The sense of community had never been better and the boy racers and doggers that used to frequent the car park at night all but disappeared.

Long story short, I am starting a petition to get the pokestops put back at St Mary's Lighthouse, which when I have enough signatures I will send to Niantic along with a detailed explanation of why we wish to have them back. It may not work, but they listened to whoever wanted to take them down - so maybe they will listen to us.

Please sign, let's face it - there's nowhere else around North Tyneside that is anywhere near as good.
