This highly unpopular decision was made against city residents wants/needs. The dump is now hindering traffic, holding water, creating hazardous conditions, preventing homeowners and businesses from progressing due to the past mayor and his loop hold decisions. This petition is created to collect signatures from the original 200+ residents that initially opposed the new location on East Springfield, to bring to the new administration, and show them once again that the citizens do not want this, and have plenty of other ideas/recommendations on where items should/could be dumped or disposed of in a better way.
Currently it is not being maintained in any way, directly impacts surrounding homeowners, businesses, and prospective businesses as it’s located directly on Industrial area. This decision was made by a loophole the previous mayor had found.
Please help me bring this to the city’s attention, that this is not, and was not, the community’s decision, it was the complete opposite.

The stench and the standing water are only getting worse despite the promises we keep hearing. I am still putting together the formal documents to challenge these loopholes, even if the progress feels slow and exhausting.

The momentum behind this petition is starting to feel like a real shift in the tide. It is exhausting to keep fighting this battle against the city but seeing your continued support makes it impossible to walk away.

The smell is honestly unbearable on hot days. Hard to believe someone thought this was a good spot for a dump right next to the industrial road.
Please move the dump where you can't see it on the main road or smell it. It would be great if the gumball trees were cut down too! What a hazard!
My husband and I have used the current site. We were unable to pull off the road to unload our trailer. Therefore, we were blocking the road for several minutes.
We just purchased a rental home right past this disgusting eyesore. Please move it!
Seems like the previous mayor just did whatever he wanted with no regard for the people who make this community what it is. At the Law Enforcement walk a couple years ago he was called on to make a speech and flat out refused. Who does that?! I'm glad hes not in office anymore and we can hopefully return to the community we once were. His ideas, much like this yard waste dumping ground, STINK.

Ridiculous to have trucks backing up traffic here. My kids ride their bikes down this road and it is not safe with all that chaos.
