For over a decade the City of Albany and Mayor Jennings has mismanaged the Rapp Road landfill. The City's decisions concerning the landfill has been short sighted and has caused great concern for the citizens of our city. The State DEC is now poised to sign the permit for a project that will expand the landfill by 15 acres and extend the dump's life by a proposed 7 years. This action must be stopped! The environmental and logistical impacts are great, and the rewards are minimal. It's time for the the Mayor and the City of Albany to make some tough decisions and look for alternative solutions to this issue.
