We, the undersigned members of Shomrei Shabbos Chevra Mishnayos are proud and thankful for the warm experience that our shul provides our families. But we have become increasingly concerned about the proliferation of candy being given out to our children in shul. By all means, we want our kids to enjoy their time in shul, but the sheer number and size of the candies has gotten out of hand. This is simply not healthy. At this point, we do not have a specific solution to propose. Instead, we are asking the leadership of the shul to join with us to develop a solution that will be in the best interests of our children and the shul as a whole. Thank you.

I really did not think this would gain this much steam so fast because it started as just a small thought I had during kiddush. It is honestly heartening to see that so many of you share this same feeling about the sugar intake in the building and it makes me feel like we might actually get someone to listen.

Agree 100%. Its not just the mess on the carpets but the kids are getting so hyped up during davenning it makes it hard for everyone.

Finally someone said it! My kids come home bouncing off the walls every single shabbos and they dont even want to eat dinner anymore. It is way too much sugar.
