By design, the roads in Brighton Park Village are narrow and often there are long stretches without stop signs. Our neighborhood is home to many families, and many children. There are very few "children at play" signs reminding drivers to be alert for young children dashing into the street. We do our best to look out for our children and our neighbors children and ensure they cross the street safely, but all it takes is one mistake and one driver not paying attention.
A 25 mph speed limit is simply too fast on these narrow roads. We are demanding a speed limit reduction in Brighton Park Village to 15 mph. We will continue to do our part to teach our children road safety. We ask that the county do theirs to slow drivers down.

25 mph is entirely too fast to drive in a residential neighborhood PERIOD!!!!!!!!
In 2003 my husband was hit by a car and was killed. My biggest fear is that the same will happen to a child here in this community.
Please place speed limit signs in our neighborhood. Some are speeding in excess of 40 mph.
Please reduce the speed limit for the safety of pedestrians and children playing.
Please reduce the speed limit as it is dangerous for children who often play outside.

I do not feel safe driving 25 MPH and I do not feel it is safe for others. The streets are too narrow, families are always out, kids are on bikes... the reasons are endless.
