As you may know, The Gresham-Barlow School District has had to make some critical cuts to the budget. One thing that they are planning to cut out is the speech/debate team. Many students love having the oppurtunity to take part in this as both a class and as an extra-curricular activity. Along with that, colleges look at speech as an important skill and students often earn good scholarships for taking part in it during their high school careers. Our goal is to inform the district about how important speech is to students and to make sure that it stays in schools so future students can be provided with the opportunity to take the class.
