We are against the expansion of the Flower Garden Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the ban on Spearfishing gear, if the boundaries were to expand. Spearfishing is one of the least harmful methods of fishing because their is no bycatch in spearfishing and no abandoned lines or hooks left. Spearfisherman take less than 1% of the fish caught every year. These banks are among the healthiest reefs in the world. Their are three sanctuaries that are already protected. Why change a good thing. We have already been hit with many new regulations recently and it is really hurting fishing as a whole, and the businesses associated with fishing and diving.

Total overreach. These reefs are fine and the spearfishing community is actually very responsible. Stop trying to ban everything!
If it isn't broken dont fix it. The banks are healthy and the gear we use doesnt hurt anything. Stop killing small businesses.
my husband has been spearfishing there for years and always respects the ocean. this is just punishing the wrong people and bad for our local economy.
ZERO BYCATCH. how is that not obvious to these people in charge. let us fish my god.
leave the boundaries where they are. we have enough restricted water as it is.
