The ALC officially rejected the proposal and the city is not moving forward with the site. I am incredibly relieved that our quiet neighborhood will remain protected from this industrial project. Thank you for staying informed and helping me keep our community safe.

We are a opposed to the City of Salmon Arm's plan to move the Public Works Yard to the old South Canoe School site. Please electronically sign our online petition if you feel the same way.

SUCCESS. The ALC rejected the City's request to use the property as a Public Works Yard. The City is having a special council meeting Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 9:00am to determine if they will move forward with the purchase.

IMPORTANT: If asked to donate by this webpage DO NOT DONATE this money goes to the host webpage. We are not looking for funding at this time, and would not collect in this manner if we were. We apologize for any confusion.

The Agricultural Land Commission decision was a massive victory for our neighborhood but this fight is far from over. I am currently preparing for the upcoming council session to ensure our local leaders understand exactly why an industrial yard does not belong in our quiet community.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one who sees the value in protecting our quiet neighborhood. It feels like the tide is finally turning in our favor.

This is a beautiful, rural residential area and I'm disgusted that the city would even contemplate this! It is an area that has a high equine population as well as cyclists and hikers, the extra traffick (large trucks) will put people and animals at risk and is absolutely unacceptable, not to mention the added pollution!!!

We just bought a beautiful acreage in south canoe because of the wonderful community it is part of. The public works yard does not belong here. It belongs in an industrial area.

I am a resident of the city of Salmon Arm. This is definitely not a suitable site for the public works. The road is a busy bicycle route for larch hills and used by horseback riders. A more suitable location would be in the industrial park where there is more space and room for expansion.

South canoe property owner and resident. I oppose the maintenance yard because it would increase heavy traffic in the area as well as congest the 2 way stops on hiway 97 which are already a crapshoot to try and get onto the hiway in the mornings. Maintenance crews and trucks added to that would be a mess every morning leaving canoe on 10th

resident of South Canoe and I use this road 3 x day. I would not want to see more traffic in that area, and specifically at the Hwy 97B and 10th Ave intersection, it is dangerous enough as it is now!

The city wouldn't build a playground or school in an industrial park, so why would they think it's ok to build an industrial site in a residential community? Think about it people....

To even consider a public works yard in South Canoe is a self serving need, a public works yard there in no way benefits the community. The city should not be making efforts to take agricultural land away from this community.
