To even consider a public works yard in South Canoe is a self serving need, a public works yard there in no way benefits the community. The city should not be making efforts to take agricultural land away from this community.

Would sadden me to see land that could be used for agricultural purposes be turned into industrial type land.

A city's Public Works Yard belongs in an industrial park. Placing it in a quiet residential area on agricultural land in order to save spots in the Park for other industry doesn't make sense. Yes new industry is important, but so is the community of South Canoe. Knowing the Industrial Park is filling up, the City must be working on a new plan. Why can't the plan include the Public Works Yard?

What do we do on the day we no longer have food for our mouths and all the agricultural land has been raped and destroyed by industry and we are left with our planet of concrete and metal? A discussion where common sense SHOULD reign, unfortunately such a sense is no longer common...

I grew up across from the school and my family still lives there. When I was in elementary and middle school my parents would insist on walking me and my bike across the highway every morning because they were worried about the dangerous traffic. Don't make it worse! This is a peaceful, quiet community. Families walk along this road, kids play in the field at South Canoe School, and mountain bikers cycle on this road to get to the to the South Canoe trails. Definitely not a suitable location for an industrial yard.

For decades I have enjoyed visiting my family at property located on this road. I have noticed how difficult it has become to safely walk or cycle along this road. Why is anyone considering adding to this risk by installing a Public Works Yard on the same road. This type of activity should be located in the industrial park and not a residential neighbourhood.

I am a resident of the city of Salmon Arm.
This is definitely not a suitable site for the public works. The road is a busy bicycle route for larch hills and used by horseback riders.
A more suitable location would be in the industrial park where there is more space and room for expansion.

On the one hand, the city is planning to move the Public Works site because it doesn’t belong in the current school and residential location that it’s in. To then put it back into a confined, residential/recreational/agricultural area makes no sense at all. And good luck to us all as we try to get across the highway safely.
