The school board reviewed our formal submission and voted to retain the Warrior mascot. We have confirmed this decision is final and official. I will monitor the upcoming administrative updates to ensure the transition process remains halted.

Thank you for taking this time to read and sign this petition to help us stay the South San Francisco Warriors. The reason we are having this petition is because South San Francisco High school is wanting to change the mascot from a Warrior to a Wolf.

The mascot we use comes from Sign Hill's history. People from the South City community were offended because it is being racist due to the fact that we are using a person to represent something, even though we are actually honoring them by calling them "Warriors".
I need your help because without your voice my voice means nothing.

You can’t change this logo! When I played football here and put on the warriors uniform. I felt like a warrior. I was proud to rep that warrior logo. This is not offensive. We as California people are way to sensitive. This is the pride of South City
There is no offense in this . My grandfather was full blooded Native American . This is a way our families spirits are honored . It’s not being made fun of or belittled . Our fighting spirit is alive and celebrated in the little things like this .
It was an honor to be a South San Francisco High School WARRIOR Mascot 1972. There is nothing racist or degrading in having the name WARRIOR. It is prideful and a an honor to have this name representing such an amazing school.
There is no reason why we need to change the mascot “Warrior” It’s been that for so many years why change It now!? From a WARRIOR to a dog, maybe no mascot at all then. Being class of 1996, I was and am very much proud to be a WARRIOR. Thank you, Lizzette
My wife and her family are Native Ohlone and they have always loved South City high being the warriors and calling someone a Warrior is NOT disrespectful it’s not like calling them the Redskins now that’s disrespectful and whoever is complaining I bet their not Native.
A little late on this but don't switch the logo. I'm class of 2013 and I feel that changing the logo is like removing a part of history this school has. This generation has gone really soft.

As a proud Native American of the Yurok tribe and south city alumni, I don't find the representation of a warrior as a Native American offensive. I am a blanket award winner and am proud our symbol of our school is the Native American head.
