Girls, we all know how hard it is to be a girl. Like honestly, school just makes it harder when we have to "double check" to make sure we aren't distracting for others. But... is it really fair? Don't we always get told that the dress code is from keeping us "distracted" during school? ALWAYS. But for some reason when we get into college legs and shoulders aren't distracting anymore? Ad they say it doesn't matter because we pay to get into college and we don't pay for public schools therefore we have to be restricted from certain things and it is just unfair. How come boys can wear offensive things on their shirts and not get dress coded, but once a girls has a RIP IN HER PANTS she gets sent to ISS sometimes for an entire day. Now for some of the restricted things I get, but... THE SHOULDERS AND RIPS IN JEANS? really???? I mean shoulders are just skin, and us not being able to wear cute, fashionable things because of it is just crazy and unfair. So I made this petition, for WISD because just for a little simple thing US GIRLS ARE SEX SYMBOLS AND HAVE TO MISS CLASS TIME FOR IT. Girls need more freedom and because of that we encourage you to sign this if you believe THINGS SHOULD CHANGE!

If seeing our skin is so distracting why don't we just go ahead and cover our face too since people always stare and get distracted by that?
SERIOUSLY. Like when I say " oh sorry my shoulders are soooo distracting" a teacher is always like well that's not the reason for the dress code. THEN CAN SOMEONE SPECIFY PLEASE?
I think it's wrong to judge a girl or send her home for what she's wearing. It's not damaging anyone so I don't understand why teachers get mad over something so stupid.
YES!!! How is it our fault if what we wear is "distracting"? They shouldn't be looking in the first place! Also, if I go to the office to say that someone is a distraction to me, they won't kick them out of school so why should we not be able to wear what we want?
This is totally agreeable at ngc you can't even wear shorts without being dresscoded

I understand that if our bra straps are out it's inappropriate but if our bra straps are covered its dumb. Also some girls have extremely long legs ( me) and in order to be in the fingertip rule i have to wear a knee length shirt? but other girls can have a crop top and leggings and get away with it? i
