Petition to Protect Local Truck Drivers’ Right to Park at Home in Soperton, GA (Treutlen County)
Hardworking truck drivers are the backbone of our community — delivering the goods, food, and supplies that keep Soperton, Treutlen County and many others running strong. Yet local drivers could soon face restrictions that would prevent them from parking their semi-trucks at their own homes.
We, the undersigned residents and supporters, respectfully petition the City of Soperton and Treutlen County officials to oppose any ordinance or regulation that would restrict semi-truck owners from parking their commercial vehicles at their primary residence, provided that parking is done safely and without obstructing roads or disturbing neighbors.
Our community’s drivers deserve the right to come home after long hours on the road — without facing additional financial burdens, inconvenience, or separation from their families. Preventing semi-truck parking at primary residences would place unnecessary strain on the very individuals who keep our supply chains and local economy moving.
By allowing responsible residential parking for semi-truck owners, we can:
• Support local truck drivers and their families
• Avoid unnecessary parking fees or long commutes to storage lots
• Uphold fairness and freedom for working residents
• Keep our local economy strong and connected
We urge the City Council of Soperton and the Treutlen County Commission to stand with our community’s drivers by rejecting any restrictive parking ordinances and instead supporting fair, common-sense solutions that work for everyone.
Let’s protect Soperton’s truck drivers, families, and their right to park responsibly at home.

They don't have no where to park now. It's not fair for them to not be able to park at home. They don't bother me. They have to work too. They keep Soperton moving.
Truckers are the backbone of this country. If trucks stops running the whole country would shut down. It is sad that drivers can't work and not be harassed about something such as parking at their home. We have to follow all other rules but I can proudly say I am proud to drive a 18-Wheeler.
I don’t reside in Treutlen County but I own property here and I support truck drivers 100%.
How bout the city creates a parking area instead restricting everything. There’s always a solution to every problem get with the program! All the wasted land like the old high school area would be a start.
I support this 100%, it’s a sacrifice enough as it is to be away from family and loved ones everyday , I feel truckers should be recognized and given the same respect as veterans who fight for this country , because we fight to keep the economy running smooth with the commodity
