We’ve all endured a season long of disappointing sport fixture due to a disorganised Social Sport Convener (Who is a paid employee). We deserve a better Social Sport Convener that is responsible and accountable.
Your team has probably experienced:
- Incorrect division placement
- Unanswered emails or phone calls
- Unanticipated playing time changes (in some cases 2 hours before games)
- Unreasonable amount of byes
- Missed out on securing a team spot at all

This petition aims to serve as an official statement from the Social Sport Community to the QUT Student Guild, that we want a professional and accountable Sport Convener or at least a more efficient sport fixture in the semesters to come. There are a lot of costs involved. To put it into perspective Social Sport has 227 registered teams in social sport individually paying $500+ a semester to play on a weekly schedule, meaning that $113,500 is being exchanged at the minimum.
Social Sport is a big part of the QUT community and it would be sad to see a decline in the due to lack of professionalism.

I actually cannot believe how quickly this took off while I was sitting here frustrated about my own game schedule last night. It feels pretty surreal to see so many people dealing with the exact same mess because I really thought I was just being dramatic about the lack of communication. This is exactly the kind of momentum we need to show the higher ups that these problems are actually fixable if someone just cares enough to do the job properly.

Definitely gotta be better next sem - Wins not being counted - Irregular and delayed ladder/score updates - Late notice for game time changes - Touch team not being included into the comp despite submitting all information and payment before deadline.
There were lots of issues faced this semester. Some issues faced was; - My team being removed from the comp without any reason/notice (had to email and message the sports Coordinator to get my team into the comp agai) - Score updates weren't updated until a weeks into the comp - Times given on the schedule weren't the actual times - Other teams were placed in division's that they weren't supposed to be in.
Needs a lot of improvement
3 semi-final draws this week alone have been structured wrong...seriously something needs to be done
Last minute game times/ cancellations/ so far no make up game plans.
Needs reform. I completely agree with all statements.
- Difference in online game times between Facebook group and website - Refereeing/scoring inconsistencies - Late game changes - Signing up for a comp on a different night to when it was actually played Not good enough, we deserve better

I played netball on Monday nights and experienced: - Late game time changes on a regular basis, including on game day - Games at 8pm and 9pm consistently, when courts aren't being used for earlier games (need to hire more umpires so we can get sleep plz and wake up early for work the next morning) - And games wouldn't start on time so they were even later - Got put in Div 3 when we asked for Div 4 - Late replies on Facebook and email We pay way too much money to have such a disorganised social sport community. Make social sport great again.
