Fingal County Council have refused planning permission for an indoor ski resort beside the Tyrrelstown Plaza Hotel in Tyrrelstown, Dublin 15. It seems the Council gave weight to the objection filed by the IDA, which argued that development was contrary to the zoning policy in the area. This objection in itself seemed bizzare coming from the state agency responsible for job creation given that if the project had got the go ahead construction would have commenced this Autumn and the completed resort would have created more than 750 in construction and a further 1,000 new jobs injecting an estimated circa €30 million into the local economy every year. It is imperative that innovation and enterprise are supported and dynamic thinking is needed to see us through these difficult recessionary times to promote employment and local authorities have an important role to play in this, we sign this petition in support of job creation and the Snotopia project and urge the planning authority to re-consider their decision.
