Unpredictable, dangerous, and drastic weather leads to hazardous and icy conditions. The current weather cancellation policy in place by DCSD fails to recognize this and forces students and staff to risk their lives driving to school. Students are inexperienced drivers and forcing them to drive to school risks their safety and increases stress levels and for younger students who can't drive they are forced to wait for buses or walk in dangerously cold temperatures.

I am reading the stories you are leaving about dangerous morning commutes and they confirm my worst fears about this district policy. We are currently scouting for a time to meet with the school board to present these concerns directly. Post this link on your Facebook page and text three friends who are tired of these icy drives.

One time my car was frozen shut from all the snow and ice and we didn't even have a delay k thats not right
my back road is literally a sheet of ice every morning and the bus slides all over the place its honestly scary
Snow is bad, but it taste good, but not the yellow snow. But really wish all seriousness I hate walking to school in the snow, and I walk everyday.
We need so the students won't freeze their butts off and stand out in the cold. And will be safe
I can't tell you how many accidents I've seen on days where we should've had a snow day

We need snow days not only for kids enjoyment, but for our safety and the safety of others.
