As a resident living in the Snellville area, supporting the local area schools, roads, and businesses, I am concerned about the impact of decisions made and/or actions taken by the City of Snellville.

I am signing this petition stating that I am OPPOSED to the two rezoning applications; (RZ 14-04 & LUP 14-03) and (RZ 14-03 & LUP 14-02) that would permit the development of 651 units including 523 apartments in the area around Eastside Medical Center.

Two hundred and fifty signatures. The city council cannot ignore this level of opposition.

Comments: My wife and I recently moved to Snellville primarily because the school system is among the best. These zoning changes WILL inevitably change that. We will then be forced to move out of this city which we love to one where educational excellence is valued, maintained and protected.

Brookwood Cluster schools will not be able to absorb an addition of hundreds of school children, there is no more room for the "ever present" trailer classrooms! We must stop this nonsense now. Do we want Snellville to become another Sandy Springs? I think not.

We do not need high occupancy housing in this area. Not only will it impact the schools negatively, but it will make traffic even more of a headache in a high-traffic area. And putting it in the same vicinity of the hospital will negatively impact emergency services as well.

Look at what has happened to Grayson since they got their appartments. Property Crime and Larceny Theft are double the national averages. I don't want that in the Brookwood cluster or community.

I can barely get down hwy124 at lunch, after work and on weekends. Why make this problem worse? Bringing apartments will bring in a bad eliminate and bring our property values down. Put a golf course, a park, or just leave it alone.

We moved from the Stone Mountain/Lithonia area to avoid this type of zoning, when our first-born was about to start kindergarten, so that we could be in the Brookwood district...don't want to be forced out by rezoning for our youngest to finish high school. No apartments for Snellville!
