The current volume of support has secured a formal meeting with the property management firm next week. We are now finalizing a legal brief that outlines the specific bylaws affected by these proposed smoking restrictions.

If people use their vents and keep the windows closed there shouldn’t be a problem. The only reason you smell cooking in the hallway is because that person isn’t using their vent. The same for smoking. What about scented candles and incense and essential oils... will they be banned? I doubt ordour is selective.
I am a non smoker and even I think this is a little too far. If I smell smoke from someone's balcony, I shut the door or window and accept that. I'd prefer that my (occasional) guest who wants to smoke be allowed to go on my balcony to do so. Also, I'd prefer that it be up to me to make the decision as to whether people can smoke in my home.
As an originating owner of my Unit pre-build. We were promised an air exchange system the would "push" hallway air INTO out units NOT "pull/suck out" unit air into the hallways. Instead we have a system that pulls out the air if the balcony door or a window is opened within the unit. If the board had addressed this issue & fixed the system over the last 8 years (instead of all the money/time spent on addressing smoke migration complaints), this would not have been a Unit problem (and minimized impact to our condo fund). FOCUS ON FIXING OUR AIR EXCHANGE SYSTEM!
Those of us who have medical licenses are being denied the usage of their medicine in a way that does not impact their families. Smoking in the unit negatively affects partners, visitors, children etc. Balcony smoking should be allowed since no one else goes out there. Plus how would you enforce it. Outside, you can’t tell where smoke comes from so how would you tell. This is a sneaky and less than intelligent way to address the smoking in the stairwells.
This ban prevents me from consuming my medication via vaporizer. It is infringing on my access to my medication.
I oppose the undemocratic decision making behind this rule. I am a unit owner in 61 Heintzman.
Legal is LEGAL! Dangerous Precedent if it moves forward.

Original Owner. There needs to be a proper meeting called so residents can weigh in on these changes and get answers to questions.
