We, the undersigned, are musicians and music lovers in Atlanta who don't like breathing in second-hand smoke whenever we're playing or listening to live music. In the spirit of Manuel's Tavern, Mary's, and other local clubs who have recently banned smoking from their bars, we would like to request the the Star Bar, The Earl, 529, The Drunken Unicorn, The Basement, Blind Willies, Northside Tavern, 10 High and other local clubs that feature live music VOLUNTARILY ban smoking in their establishments. In return, we promise that we will all start attending more events at your club. Smoke-free bars are a reality in most of the country now, and they are doing as brisk of a business as ever. Eventually the government will act to ban smoking here. This is a chance to be pro active and do it yourself without subjecting yourself to additional government regulation.
