SAVE SKERTON PRIMARY SCHOOL FROM POSSIBLE CLOSURE
Parents of pupils at skerton community primary school recieved a letter on the 2nd october 2009 stating there was to be a consultation on the future of the school, and its possible closure. The reasons given for this decision are based on a school which we feel no longer exsists and is now thriving. They give their reasons as "poor performance as measured by national Key Stage 2 tests and a low number on roll leading to large numbers of surplus places". If the desision is made to close the school it will come into effect on the 31st august 2010. we are asking anyone who feels strongly about keeping the school open to please sign this petition and give our children and teachers a chance to prove they can make this school great!!!There is to be a meeting held at the school on the 14th october 2009 at 3pm.This is to hear and discuss the proposal arrangements and the implications.
