Are you a driver for uber or lyft? Or passenger? Have you ever felt like you have been put in a situation that you where scared for you life or well-being? If yes then please sign this petition so we can get our voices heard. We all want to go home to our families at the end of our rides. A few months ago I sent a message to uber and lyft about putting a silent panic button on the app that we are able to push without the passenger / driver knowing. This would almost act as an on-star with out the verbal communication. But instead the panic button can be pressed and then your info and current location will get sent to the local law enforcement. The officer can locate the vehicle and pull the car over and for your protection ask to have you step out of the vehicleThis is then where you can inform the officer of the dangerous situation you are in. It would not take much to do this and make it safer to drive and or ride in a uber or lyft LETS BE ACTIVE NOT REACTIVE. This could be implemented for passengers as well. If You think about it look at many other businesses that have a silent panic button. Why not lyft and uber? Please sign so we can have strength in numbers to show lyft and uber we are more then a little car that appears on the screen. D.I.D(DRIVER IN DANGER) P.I.D (PASSENGER IN DANGER)LETS BE ACTIVE NOT REACTIVE.

I never thought we would see this much movement when I first typed this out at my kitchen table and now it is actually feeling like something real is happening. It is just mind blowing to think that so many people feel this exact same way because I honestly felt pretty alone in my fear until I saw all your names popping up.

One of my passengers tried to strangle me while I was driving. This is an important first step but Uber needs to be accountable for their lack of action when it comes to protecting and supporting drivers.

This is a DEFINITE need. Even tonight I had wished it was on my Lyft app since a very drunk pax had a more threatening tone by the minute.

We need this. Pulling over and asking to end the ride is not safe. If you go off course, the situation could escalate. I've practiced simulating car problems to signal police but I worry that it won't work.

No one should even need to petition for this, it seems like a no brainier. Let's get this going and make it a thing!
