We all have founders of our different Religions,Faith and Beliefs, yet we are told religion should not be imposed on others because Canada is a multicultural land. Yet, at this given time, the founder of the Seikh Religion is being blatantly imposed on every other Religious people in the city of Brampton. Peter Robertson is the original name of the street and it should remain as such. Yes there might be 200,000 Seikh's living in Brampton, but Brampton's population altogether is 603,346 and if we should do the math, 603,346 minus 200,000 leaves us with a majority of 403,346. So NO!the original name of the street SHOULD NOT be changed to accommodate them, it should remain as it was because Brampton is made up of many different cultures.
It should stay the same there are other cultures living in Brampton not just one. The change is no necessary. There isn’t just one culture living in Brampton. No matter the ratio. Other people matter too. If changed this will only show that one culture is getting its way above other cultures

The name should remain the same! They can develope new streets and name them at time of development. They dont need to change the dedications given out already to satisfy their beliefs. If you want to live in Canada you should be accepting and respectful of the past and present culture. I have nothing against no one but lets not behave as if Brampton is too be exclusively dedicated to one specific group! Peter Robertson has a history, Brampton has a history. Preserve that a little i think is fair!

They would have no right in their own country to do this so what makes them think they can do so here?

Go to India, Pakistan or whenever your home land (country of origin) is and change whatever needs to be changed there. No disrespect; however, Canada is an amazing country and we should all accept the laws here and just build on them if needed to in dialogue, collective. Our Charter of Rights never intended to offend through hatred, racism, prejudice or any other injustice against OUR (humanity) COUNTRY. In these times; Canada does not need conflict or divisiveness amongst different groups or ethnicities, we are all as a NATION...Let's keep it that way; we already have the FREEDOM to practice whatever religion we belong to or our culture (what we bring from country of origin) openly, freely so PLEASE let's not go overboard and DESTROY what some (minority) may take for granted. You don't know what you have until you lose it! Whenever you drive by and see one of those hugh red and white flag with that Maple Leaf on a tall pole...Please don't think of changing it, because if you do; we will all lose the most important thing we have in common...Yes, our FREEDOM!

Of the hundreds of roads to choose, there's even an "Adopt a regional road" program and yet the decision is to rename Peter Robertson.....and that doesn't seem in any way disrespectful to Peter Robertson OR Guru Nanak? Because this all looks SO lazy to me...
