Send Parish Council has published a document in which they state that they will NOT oppose the possibility of Greenbelt development in our village.
If we stand back and allow this plan to proceed, we may be looking at over 2000 new homes in the villages of Send and Send Marsh in the foreseeable future.
Please get your individual letters of objection in to Guildford Borough Council without delay – This may be your last opportunity to stand up against the destruction of this rural community.
· It will result in urban sprawl which is precisely what establishment of the Green Belt was designed to protect
· There is insufficient infrastructure to support such development
· Local schools are at capacity now
· Roads are at a standstill at peak times already and large scale building will add hundreds more vehicles
· The villages of Send, Send Marsh, Burnt Common will completely lose their identities.
Please make you views on this important matter known to those currently in control of the future of this area by getting individual letters off to Guildford Borough Council now.

We we moved to Send Marsh, we actively sought a property which had been built on a brownfield site. As passionate advocates of the Green Belt remaining as such and for the purpose it was intended, we wholly oppose the proposed development as described in the Local Plan.
I believe that the proposals would be deterimental to the area whose infrastructure is already at capacity with roads needing regular reinstatement wihtout increased traffic volumes. In addition, additional development in a flood risk area creates additional threats to the local community.
I am concerned about the lack of infrastructure to accomodate such a huge proposed development. I am also concerned that merging a distinct rural area such as Send and Send Marsh with guildford (which is effectively what this plan proposes) is simply bad planning and bad judgement and is against our basic rights to have a peaceful quality of life.
I've lived in Send and Send Marsh for over 40 years. It's a beautiful place to live and if we build loads of new houses and increase the number of people living here we will lose all the green belt and the open spaces we all enjoy so much. Once its gone its gone. We will NEVER get it back. What a terrible legacy to leave our children and the next generation.
There has to be space for nature, we are lucky to enjoy snakes, deer, badgers, bats,frogs and all manner of birds and insects in our corner of Surrey, if you continue to flatten the trees and build on all the green land where will the wildlife go? No to the Plan I say.
Keep send village in the greenbelt, development should be on brown field sites
Do not release greenbelt but build in more sustainable locations on the edges of towns, not rural villages.

There is no reason why this should not continue, but this has been largely overlooked by Guildford Borough Council and their consultants.
