The signers of this petition support the placement of a bench near an existing small tree at the Swift Run Small Dog Park fence entrance in Ann Arbor. Currently the existing two benches in the small dog park are 80 to 100 feet from the park entrance. One must travel through a gravel path or a hilly path to one of these two benches. Someone using a walker or wheel chair finds it difficult to navigate these paths to one of the existing benches.
I have been hearing from many of you about the difficulty of navigating the gravel path to reach the current seating areas. I am preparing to present these concerns directly to the parks department office this week. Email your city council representative now to tell them why this small change will make our park accessible for everyone.

The momentum behind this bench project is growing fast and shows that our community wants accessible parks. Email the Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation department today to tell them why this entrance needs a place to sit.

Great idea. The path is way to rough for my walker. Please add a bench by the gate.

Its 2020 people. Make the park accessible for everyone already. Super simple fix.

My mom loves taking her pup there but she has bad knees and cant make it all the way to the other benches. This would be a huge help.
