TO THE MANAGEMENT OF THE AFL NT:

WE THE UNDERSIGNED RESPECTFULLY SHOWETH that we are seriously concerned with the Sporting Pulse computer systems that have been used for the selection of teams and that as a consequence of this technical problem, which was known to AFL NT, the Southern Districts Football Club has been unfairly treated resulting in the loss of points to the Under 18’s side and the club having paid a non- refunded $500.

This heavy handedness has cast a dark cloud over the code generally and the management capabilities, policies & procedures of the AFLNT.

YOUR PETITIONERS THEREFORE HUMBLY PRAY that the AFL NT take necessary steps to re-instate the points forfeited from the Southern Districts Under 18’s side and that the team be reinstated to their rightful position and standing on the ladder with full points.

AND YOUR PETITIONERS, AS IN DUTY BOUND, WILL EVER PRAY.

Updates

December 1, 2014

The volume of support has now reached a level that allows us to formally request an urgent meeting with AFL NT leadership. I am currently preparing the technical evidence regarding the Sporting Pulse errors to present alongside this documented consensus. We will move to formal correspondence once the legal review of these materials is complete.

Penalising a whole team by taking points away for an honest mistake and clerical error on the AFL's behalf is not right. This decision has single handedly demorailsed kids in this team and at an age where the sport needs to be grooming them to become senior level players, not trying to turn them away from our great game. This decision needs to be reversed and points reinstated to show some justice, and the AFL need to own up and realise that this is a mistake on their behalf.

Penalising an entire team for an honest mistake (oversight) as a reult of a system error seems a little unfair. If the player had deliberately entered a false DOB then thats a different matter. We are always trying to promote our great game, however I believe the penalty in this incidence is too severe and could very well turn players away from the game.

Stripping points from the U18 players for a fault within the AFL system and the ADministration of the system makes no sense. Just discourages and disillusions the young players.

Not affiliated with any Darwin team- but this is unfair and effects juniors that have no involvement with a computer error. There was nointention to cheat or otherwise.

Beyond belief that the AFLNT could not exercise the discretion that is clearly outlined in the bylaws.

Why doesn't the AFLNT check with the AFL about the software. If they implement the system, they need to know if it has flaws so they can fix it for the rest of the country!!

The punishment handed down by AFLNT is far to harsh for an honest mistake made by managment. I personally don't see why these young men should be brought down as well when fining the club would be more than suffice.

Ridiculous decision does not encourage juniors points should be reinstated
