We call on the council to remove parking charges on St Mary’s Road immediately.
These charges are putting children at risk by increasing congestion and unsafe parking as drivers look for free alternatives nearby. St Mary’s Road is used by families and children every day, and road safety must come first.
The car park is also essential for key workers who rely on it to get to work. At a time when the cost of living is already placing huge pressure on households, charging for parking here is unfair and unnecessary.
Scrapping these parking charges would improve safety, support key workers, and reduce stress on local families. We urge the council to do the right thing and remove the charges.
As a pensioner who cannot walk far these increases in charges & charging where once was free will cause me great problems. Life is hard enough as it is without having to pay fees I can ill afford.
