Students at Capital High School are getting sent to the office everyday for the clothing they are wearing. Students will be sent to in-school suspension because they are a "distraction" to other people in class, specifically boys. They will remain in in-school suspension until their parents bring them clothes, or if they have a change of clothes with them. These unreasonable dress codes include: shoulders cannot be showing, holes in jeans cannot be above the knee, shorts cannot be above mid-thigh, leggings cannot be worn unless the student is wearing a long shirt or dress, and shirts cannot expose the midriff. Trying to find clothes that follow this dress code is next to impossible. Parents are practically being forced to buy their kids new clothes/ new wardrobes because students' clothes don't follow the dress code. By signing this petition you will be agreeing that these rules are completely unreasonable and should be changed.

I have finished drafting a formal proposal to revise the current dress code policy based on the feedback shared here. This document will be presented to the school board during their upcoming session to ensure the administration addresses these specific restrictions.

Dress code makes it so hard to get dressed, especially when it's gonna be hot that day, and no one sees anything wrong with your outfit until you get to school.
I dont even go to capital anymore. Capitals dress code is sexist and even pointed towards skinny girls. I broke the dresscode multible times and nothing happened but if one of my thinner friends did they got in trouble. Its sexist and it needs to stop.
This dress code is rediculous girls bodies are overly sexualized we should be able to wear whatever we want as long as our butt or boobs aren't hanging out it really shouldn't be distracting . People control their own eyes if it's "distracting" to anyone then they need to go to a hospital for being turned on by some shoulders ...
Teachers have been wearing tank top blouses but it's the students that get called out. And there are students that get away with wearing certain items while others don't.
The dress codes are ridiculous. They'd much rather send a girl to the office, and make her lose out on her valuable education, than try to work on a boy and see why a shoulder distracts him. This needs to be changed! The dress codes are very sexist.
I don't go to Capital but my school dress code is the same andit is absolutely rediculous!

Instead of punishing the girls, punish the boys for seeing woman/girls as objects or a piece of meat. Tech the boys how to respect woman/girls.
