RFU Play-off system
Wouldn't it be great to go back to when the league champions were actually crowned the league champions! Play-offs are all very well in the right circumstances but in the Premiership, when one team could dominate the league how can it be right that the teams that finishes in 2nd to 4th position are 'crowned' champions. The Championship is an ever bigger 'joke', all 12 teams are involved in the play-offs. Just what is the point of the league? Obviously it is only about revenue, so in the Premiership, why not have a 'worthwhile' cup competition between the top 4 teams but not for the honour of being called 'League Champions'. In the Championship where only 1 team can be promoted, why should there be a play-off system? If 2 teams were to be promoted then have something similar to how soccer works - the next 4 teams play off for that second place (still wrong in my opinion). To have play-off situations between EVERY team in the league is a farce, does this happen anywhere else in the world of sport? Most rugby supporters you speak to all feel the same way about this but the RFU don't seem to want to listen. Please sign this petition and help to get the RFU to see if they can come up with some sensible solution to this situation.
