As a fan of Chester City and football in general, I am petioning the following people/associations as I feel they are setting out to ruin the beautiful game:
1) Stephen Vaughan (Chester City chairman and also chairman of Widnes RLFC). Mr Vaughan wants to scrap the name Chester City Football Club, to the disgust of fans like myself who have supported the team through thick and thin for many years. He wants to change it to either Flint or Halton FC, in effect taking football out of Chester. WE WANT CHESTER CITY TO STAY AS CHESTER CITY, AND IF HE DOESN\'T LIKE IT PERHAPS HE SHOULD CLEAR OFF AND FIND SOME OTHER CLUB. He\'s done naff all at getting Chester anywhere and to be honest most fans wouldn\'t miss him.
2) The Football League, who are currently threatening our game by scrapping draws in games! These plans (maybe with the exemption of cup games) would ruin football in our country and would be totally unfair and unjustified. I urge fellow fans to sign this petiton or contact the FA about this and if they refuse to listen to the fans then let us all unite and BOYCOTT EVERY FOOTBALL MATCH in England until the suits in Soho Square get the message that we fans who pay good money to watch teams and in essence keep football economically viable ARE NOT TO BE PUSHED AROUND!
I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly wild to see so many people actually agreeing that the name of our club should stay put. It feels like the suits might finally be starting to realize that we are not just going to roll over and watch them destroy the history of this game for their own weird experiments.

If he wants to run a club in halton he should go start one from scratch. Leave Chester City alone.

Ridiculous ideas from start to finish. Leave the name alone and keep the game the same. Total madness.

Chester City is our club. Changing the name is a total joke and vaughan needs to go now. Keep our identity!
