By signing this petition, you are joining with your neighbors in requesting that the town of Holliston reject Verzion Wireless' proposal to build a new cell tower at the top of Pope Road, on the grounds that such a tower would negatively impact the value of homes in the Cedarbrook, Evergreen, Hemlock, Kingsbury and Walnut neighborhoods, and would create unnecessary visual pollution.

Background and Details:

Verizon Wireless has requested the town's approval to build a new cell tower in an elevated portion of the woods behind Pope Rd.

Although Pope road is zoned for industrial, the proposed site borders residential areas on Hemlock, Walnut and Kingsbury Dr. And, since Verizon is proposing a 150 foot tower- which about 2 times taller than the surrounding trees, the tower will be visible from Hemlock, Evergreen, Walnut, Kingsbury Landing, and Cedarbrook neighborhoods.

For more information about Verizon's proposal, details about how it will impact your neighborhood, and important information you should know as a resident, please visit our Facebook page <https://www.facebook.com/noVZtower>.

Updates

December 3, 2014

The volume of support has now reached a level that requires formal attention from the planning board. I have submitted an official request for a public hearing to address the impact on our residential zones.
