Currently, keyboarding classes are on the chopping block at Matanzas High School. This petition intends to change the mind of those behind this decision because piano classes posses the following virtues: Learning not only music skills, but life lessons; dedication to learning in the face a steep learning curve; the importance of focus and patience; pride in something that you have accomplished over time; but most of all, it upholds process over product. This class is imperative for a well-rounded education, and the skills acquired in this forum are easily translated to our lives in and out of high school and beyond, whether we choose to attend college, or go directly into the workforce.
