West Heidelberg Police Station is under review which has now been extended to January 2009. We need to petition to keep our active police members there and not just downgraded to a n/watch,drug counselling centre. We need active police members at the station, so that criminals can be dealt with. We need their local policing knowledge and the elderly need to be able to get there easily. We have some great policemen & women there, let's not lose them. LETTERS & EMAILS OPPOSING DOWNGRADING WILL BE FORWARDED TO INSP.LARDNER & VARIOUS OTHER INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE. My name is Trish and I have a written petition with over 600 signatures for this cause and have onforwarded all letters and emails received so far via West Heidelberg Police Station to an Inspector Lardner.
Whilst I appreciate his idea of more police presence out and about, I do believe that the West Heidelberg People still absolutely need the Police Station to remain in a fully functional capacity, not just a drug counselling, n/watch facility but we need active police officers and preferably the ones who are already there with the local knowledge they have of the area.
