Tesco's intend to build a massive new store on the cowley road. This has already started to strangle our high street making retailers reluctant to open in the face of Tesco's massive buying power and 'pile it high sell it cheap' practices. This is bad for you as the consumer, because as soon as all of the local competition has gone they can set the prices to whatever they like. If the new store goes ahead there will also be traffic chaos with an estimated 800 cars an hour entering and leaving the site this will gridlock our already heavily congested roads so no one will be able to get anywhere!! In addition to the store which will look massively out of place and become an eyesore alongside our canal Tesco plan to build hundreds of residential units, this is once again a very bad idea as Yiewsley and West Drayton have over the past few years had approx 3000 new homes created with no change to the infrastructure, thats no additional Doctors, increasein public transport, Dentists, school places etc etc. This also means more and more vehicles on our roads to add to the traffic mayhem we are experiencing (within the lats two months the high street and Stockley bypass have been at a standstill for in excess of an hour on numerous occasions) Please help save our town its time to take action now, please sign the petition.
