Ross-On-Wye does not need another supermarket. There's already a Morrisons and Sainsbury's and the Gardener & Butcher site is earmarked for an Aldi store. The town is dying and the supermarkets will bleed it even further. In this time of recession we need to keep our independent shops and high streets and shouldn't pander after the BIG supermarkets. Dairy farmers are struggling. Local shops are struggling. People are struggling. We need to spend our hard-earned money in local shop as the High streets up and down the country are dying and being turned into residential areas. How much have Tesco offered the council of Ross-On-wye to allow it to build a giant supermarket? Don't be fooled, good people of Ross, it will create some jobs but it will take away many more.
