One thousand people have told the corporate suits at Carowinds that tearing down Thunder Road is a massive mistake. The brass in their offices thinks we will just roll over and let them erase history but they are dead wrong.

This is so sad! Progress is one thing but why does such an iconic feature of an amusement park have to be removed for new rides? Last I heard, this coaster is one of the last few wooden coasters still in operation. High tech and new isn't always better!
Thunder road was my first "big girl" ride. It solidified me as "big girl" and no more kiddy rides... I was sure I was going to get the chance to ride with my own child when he got of age....so many precious memories #redandblue, forward and backwards!!!!
Do not get rid of Thunder Road! Have you lost your minds? Fix it, if need be, but it was the first real roller coaster that many of us rode! You would be making a huge mistake to get rid of it.....remember the "New Coke"? Yeah, that kind of mistake!
The very first roller coaster I ever rode. Back in 1985 we would always get seasons passes. My dad would always have to place his arm across my chest to keep me from flying out. My daughter is 5 now. Please do not destroy this Carolinian landmark.
Carowinds will not be the same without Thunder Road! Just build a pathway under it for the waterpark expansion on the other side! This coaster has been here almost as long as the park has been open. First the plantation house then this! #SaveThunderRoad

Please keep this iconic coaster. I feel you are getting rid of all the normal coasters and more family friendly rides to build giant scary coasters. Please consider keeping a variety of rides for attracting families, not just thrill seeking teens.
