Due to government cutbacks, councils are being forced to save money. However, councils such as that of the Hounslow Borough are proposing to completely scrap Hounslow's Youth Service. This will lead to the end of Hounslow's Youth Council and Hounslow's participation in the UK Youth Parliament but also to the end of many places and functions that keep the youth of today off the rough streets.
Awards such as the Duke Of Edinburgh Gold award will be ruled out completely and young people will have no extra curriculm activities to participate in. With tuition fees on the increase and no youth service to help young people, what are the future leaders going to do?

Seeing the surge of support for our centers proves that people realize what is at stake for our kids. These programs helped me find my way when I had nowhere else to go and I refuse to let them disappear.

Are they serious?? Cutting everything that actually helps kids stay out of trouble. Hounslow council is a total shambles.
