Haringey Council agreed a staggering 75% cut to its youth service on Feb 24th 2011. This would lead to a cut in youth centres and youth worker support to over 4000 teenagers in the borough.
Young people understand the government has forced councils to make cuts, but its up to locally elected politicians what those cuts should be. We know it is difficult but young people in Haringey already had 8 of their 13 youth centres close in September 2010 and now we have to endure a further 75% and we believe this is unfair and very dangerous to the welfare and safety of young people as well as the wider community.

These kids need somewhere to go in the evenings. Closing these centres is just asking for more trouble on the streets.
75% is a massive joke. u guys are just setting them up to fail. think about the future of this community for once.
I grew up at these clubs and they kept me out of serious issues. destroying them is so short sighted.
Haringey council needs to get their priorities straight. Youth workers are lifesavers for so many around here.
STOP THE CUTS. our kids dont have enough as it is.

totally unfair. they are taking away the only safe space for teenagers in the area.
