Thousands of Lawrence's most vulnerable citizens benefit from the
services available only through the SRS office. SRS helps our neighbors
access the resources they need to live with dignity and greater
independence.
Closing the SRS office threatens their well-being and will let many fall through the cracks.
Tell
Governor Brownback and Secretary Siedlecki that anything less than a
fully functioning SRS office in Lawrence is unacceptable.
The numbers are rising but the fatigue is setting in for all of us. I need you to push this link out one last time before we hit that thousand signature mark. We cannot let our efforts stall now when the office is still at risk.

One hundred people have signed on to keep this office open. I am exhausted by the fight but seeing these names gives me a reason to keep pushing forward.

The silence from the state office is heavy and discouraging but I refuse to let this issue fade from view. I am spending my evenings documenting the real impact this closure would have on our neighbors because the people in charge need to see the human cost of their decisions.

Keep the office open! Brownback is just trying to hurt the people who need help the most. Stop these cuts now.

So many families are going to suffer if this happens. Just think about the elderly and disabled who can't get out of town.

This is ridiculous. People in Lawrence rely on these services to survive. Don't make them drive all the way to Topeka.

Ridiculous. My neighbor depends on this place for her benefits. If it shuts down she has no way to get there. Keep it open!

Total incompetence closing it down. Why punish the people who are already struggling? Keep it local.
