To the parties that be, we request that the closure of the Salvation Army located at 17261 Oak Lane be delayed or STOPPED until a more suitable location can be found.
Changes proposed are to stop providing food, and only serve as an outreach program, visiting homes and families. This is NOT in the best interest of the people they routinely serve with fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, meats and after school snacks. Many families rely on this resource and cutting them off so quickly could potentially end in individuals going hungry and more impoverished households.
The Family Resource Center claims that they need the room for therapy, however, most of the building sits empty for part of the day. We propose they utilize that space instead and put the community first by protecting their ability to have food.

I have been reviewing the stories shared by residents who rely on the daily food services at the Oak Lane location. The necessity of this resource remains clear and the arguments for maintaining access to fresh food are compelling. I am currently preparing a formal proposal for the Family Resource Center to ensure they understand the impact of these proposed changes.

The growth of this petition confirms that our neighbors prioritize the security of local food access above all else. This momentum demonstrates that the community expects better utilization of existing building space to protect those in need.

More notice needs to be given to the families that are relying on these services to feed their children.
The Family Resource Center should do just that and keep the Salvation Army programs.
Please don't shut this facility down... I personally know families who have gone there for food.
My dad for years helped w/ Oak View Food Bank. He picked up the day old bread from grocery stores early every morning. He did it till the day he died.
Why cut sources that many families in this neighborhood need? That's unfair and ridiculous.
These needy people NEED the Salvation Army and the wonderful services they provide. Keep them open!!

Muchas personas nos ayudamos con lo k nos dan en esta oficina pero muchas también prácticamente comen de lo k reciben de ai Héspero no dejen sin su ayuda y no cierren este lugar.
