We, Residents of Goose Creek, SC and surrounding neighborhoods, want to save the Wedding Chapel on St. James Ave, keep it open and used for 'the purpose for which it was conveyed.
Mr. Mayor,
The residents of Goose Creek deserve to keep this remarkable building, a chapel open to the enjoyment of the people and not turned into anything else.
Mr. Mayor,
So many of the people who voted you in got married, have their children or grand children married in that Chapel, please don’t erase their memories along with the beautiful building.
Besides every city in the low country and beyond has a landmark, that is unique and distinguish it from other cities, what’s Goose Creek’s?

I spent the afternoon walking by the chapel and thinking about the generations of families who walked through those doors for their weddings. It is heartbreaking to imagine that space turned into anything else when it holds so much of our local history. I am currently working on a formal request to meet with the city council so they understand exactly what this building represents to the people of Goose Creek.

My own parents were married in that chapel and seeing the support grow makes me realize how many of us share the same history. We need a final surge to hit our next goal before the mayor notices how much this building truly belongs to our community.

My own wedding photos sit on the mantel because of the memories we made inside those walls. We are nearing one hundred signatures and need a final push to force the city to acknowledge the history we built together.

I have attended 3 weddings at that church,plus have gone there for meditation We do not need another gas station, storage ,or other pos you on that corner. Please find it in your heart to save that little church ❤️
Me and my husband was married there in 2001. He passed away 3 years ago this February. I would hate to lose something so special as the church we said our vows at.
I was shattered when I saw the for sale sign! There are SO MANY businesses taking over and we are losing the “home feeling” that goose creek had to offer! I’ve been a resident for over 30 years! This chapel NEEDS to be saved!
I remember when Rev Williams built this chapel for the people of Goose Creek. This little chapel holds many memories for all of people and is also a tribute to The late Rev. Williams!
We moved here 38 yrs ago when the military was here. My daughter grew up and got married in that chapel and had her 2 daughters baptized there. This chapel so beautiful inside and out. It needs to stay.

34 yrs ago was going through a rough time. I walked there (had no car) with my 2 yr old in a stroller and got on my knees at that alter! Prayed and cried there for a little while. I was so thankful it was there as I needed it badly at that time! Pls save it!
