We the undersigned call on Kirklees Local Authority to reverse the decision to close the Lowerhouses Nursery Resourced Provision Unit. The loss of the unit would rob vulnerable young children of the quality early years provision they deserve. The unit provides a specialist facility within a mainstream setting for children aged 3-5 years with developmental delay. The decision to close a unit that received a classification of 'outstanding' by Ofsted in 2010 is perverse and wasteful.

The volume of support has now reached a level that allows us to formally request a meeting with the cabinet member for children's services. We are finalizing the briefing document to present our case for reversing this closure.

Total madness. Why fix what isnt broken. Leave the unit alone.
The transition for these kids will be impossible if this shuts down. Please dont take this away from them.
My daughter went here and the staff were just amazing. They really care about the kids needs. You cant just replace that kind of specialist care.
This place is a lifeline for so many families. My nephew has come on leaps and bounds because of the support here. Shame on the council for even thinking of closing it.
Outstanding rating and they want to close it?? Makes absolutely no sense. Keep it open!
