It has come to the attention of the students of Phillipsburg High School, both current and former, that history teacher Ms. Laurie Johnson will no longer be teaching the AP History class, or any other history class, for the coming fall 2008 semester. The undersigned firmly believe that this decision will adversely affect a significant number of history students attending PHS for this Fall semester, especially the AP history students. Ms. Johnson\'s zeal and enthusiasm in teaching these classes, and her dedication to her students, inspire all students to give their best efforts in class. The value of a Phillipsburg education will suffer by moving an exceptional history teacher to a subject area that is neither her forte nor her passion. The school is losing both an exceptional first year German teacher, Mr. Mark Kotulich, and an extraordinary history teacher, Ms. Laurie Johnson, in this shuffle. The undersigned agree that Ms. Johnson should remain in her position as a history teacher, a place where she can realize her full potential.
The school administration remains silent on our requests for a meeting regarding Ms. Johnson's reassignment. Email the principal today and tell them that moving an exceptional teacher away from her students is a mistake. Keep the pressure on until they explain why this decision was made.

The administration is finally taking notice because of your steady pressure. Post this link to the Phillipsburg school board Facebook page and email your representative tonight to demand that Ms. Johnson stays in the history department.

Ms. Johnson is the reason I actually liked history class. she knows how to make it interesting instead of just reading from a book.
