50 custodians have received layoff notices in the Beaverton School District as the district looks to cut $26 million from its budget. They have all worked up the ladder to be the day custodians and now must decide whether to leave or take a lower paying position. We believe Beaverton School District’s Custodians to be a vital part of the educational experience. Beaverton School District custodians have an integral role in the school that extends far beyond mopping floors. We do not want our school’s custodians to be marginalized.
